The Ayn Rand Archives

The Ayn Rand Institute is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Irvine, California. ARI was established in 1985 to increase awareness of Ayn Rand's philosophy, Objectivism. In 1992 Ayn Rand's literary executor, Leonard Peikoff, donated a portion of her personal papers to the Library of Congress. In 1995 the remaining papers were placed at ARI, which established the Ayn Rand Papers collection and the Ayn Rand Archives. The Archives now houses many related collections, but the Ayn Rand Papers remains its crown jewel.

Ayn Rand on Demand

Our digitization project is being launched with 500 high-quality images on January 1, 2014. The project will continue through 2018, with the goal of adding approximately 20,000 new images each year. Ayn Rand on Demand will present Ayn Rand's handwritten manuscripts, correspondence, typewritten manuscripts, photos, and a variety of other material. Some of the digitized documents are accompanied by annotated transcriptions and translations; these documents are searchable as full text.
