Ayn Rand Signature

Archives

Ayn poses next to a painting of her husband, Frank O'Connor. This portrait was painted by Leonebel Jacobs in 1947, while Ayn and Frank were living in the Richard Neutra-designed von Sternberg house in Chatsworth, CA.

In a letter dated October 17, 1948, Rand wrote Jacobs regarding an insurance policy she was taking out on Frank's portrait. She described it as "the best of my material treasures," and said that it "makes me happy every time I look at it."
